What do you do about security?
We use industry-standard SSL encryption to scramble credit card information both on the way from the shopper to our server, and from our server to the merchant. We also support CyberCash.

Do I have to sign a contract?
You have to agree to our Terms of Service, but you do not have to sign up for a set period of time. You can cancel whenever you want.

What Web address will my store use?
Unless you have a custom address, or use our Domain Name tool, your store will have the Web address, www.example.com/ , where will be replaced with the name you enter for your store.

Can I have www. .com as my address?
We have an easy tool that lets you register your own domain name (myname.com). If you already have a domain name, we can help you transfer it.

How do I get a merchant credit card account?
You should talk to your bank or financial institution to get a merchant credit card account.

How do I receive orders?
There are two ways to get your orders:

1. Most users view orders on the Web: just go to the home page and click on the Order Notification button. Enter your password, then view your orders over a secure connection.
2. You can have orders forwarded to you by e-mail.

If you want your site to be maintained by a freelance Web consultant, you can make the password for retrieving orders different from the one for editing the site.

Is real-time credit card processing supported?
Yes, credit card authorizations can be processed in real-time using either CyberCash or secure online transaction methods, or we can pass the credit card number on to you.

Do I have to know HTML?
No, you never see HTML. To create a store you simply need to type in the name, price, item number, and description of each of the items you want to sell.

Can I change a store once I've created it?
You can update your site as often as you want, from wherever you happen to be.

While you're editing your site, you can choose to close the store so that shoppers cannot access it. We re-open the store when you have finished making changes, and the updated version is available instantly.

Does my store have to look the same as all the others?
You have control over the look of your site.

How do I get the images into the store?
When you edit your store, there will be an [Image] button on most dialog boxes. If you click on that button, you can select an image on your local disk, and upload to the appropriate page. The Store Creator automatically creates small "thumbnail" images for section pages. You only need to upload one version of each image, and the Store Creator makes the rest.

Can I get statistics about what is happening in my store?
Our tracking tools are sophisticated. You can generate reports on an as needed basis. Reports can also be e-mailed to you monthly or quarterly.

Do I need any special hardware or software to create my store?
The only software you need is an ordinary browser that supports Java, for example, Netscape Navigator 4.06 or Microsoft Explorer 4.01. If you plan to include images in your store, you may want a scanner or digital camera.

Will you list my store in the mall directory?
Yes, after you buy your store and we have opened it, your store will be listed in the mall directory. A store description is shown after your store name, if you entered one when you created your store.

What kind of network connection do you have?
We currently have a T3 line to our main servers, and a separate T1 as a backup to a separate location.

What are secure online transactions?
Secure online transactions are credit card transactions which use special protocols to ensure the highest level of security available.

Do you support the euro?
Yes, we support the new euro currency for store owners in Europe. When you set up your store, you will be asked which currency you want your store to be configured for. To accept payment in the euro and also display the equivalent price in another currency, select the Euro - Country Currency combination from this drop-down list. To accept payment in one currency and also display the equivalent price in euros, select the Country Currency - Euro combination.
